Stitches & Prayers

STITCHES AND PRAYERS

Please join us to knit or crochet while being in fellowship with others. We make prayer shawls and lap blankets to be blessed and given away to those in need.
Meets every other month on the second Wednesday at 2pm

Stitches and Prayers started in 2005 as a Prayer Shawl Ministry.  We have created many soft, warm knitted or crocheted shawls over the years.  In 2013 we branched out, changed our name and added new projects.  In addition to prayer shawls, we now make baby blankets (with or without coordinating mother’s shawls), youth blankets, adult lap blankets, hats for local cancer patients, and nests for orphaned baby animals. These projects are given to anyone in need of comfort, whether for illness, injury, suffering from loss or in-the-midst of a crisis.  They are also given as a celebration blessing, such as for a marriage, birth or a milestone birthday.

Before each project is delivered it is prayed over by the ministry team who created it.

Ways to become Involved:

  • You can knit or crochet a project, or work on a fleece blanket

  • You can share the name of someone in need of our projects

  • You can pray for those who create our projects

  • You can support the ministry financially to help with the purchase of supplies

If you don’t knit or crochet… we can teach you!

Pattern idea cards are located on the bulletin board in Room 103.

Next meeting is December 11 at 2pm!
